Background
This Phantom series depicts the world that is 100 years after the previous series, Garbage Heads. Garbage Heads that were first born in the world are about 1 meter in size. They achieve unique evolution and gradually increase in size throughout the story. These works were produced with AI as concept design by the author AKIRA WAKUI, and were created for the animation with characters made in 3D CGI that is planned to be produced in the future.
Concept Story
Although Garbage Heads were able to be mass-produced by AI incubator, the repeated incidental accidents produced various kinds of Garbage Heads. That era lasted for 20 years.
Those 20 years brought Garbage Heads so many positive incidents. They helped each other to progress by taking advantage of the differences in body shape and characteristics and complementing each other’s defects.
This had been a strong tailwind for their progress towards further evolutionary stages. As this relationship of mutual help became a stronger among the Garbage Heads, the tendency to value others more than self became stronger. And many sacrificed themselves for the benefit of others. It gave strong influence on even the algorithm of AI itself, which adjusted the entirety of Garbage Heads, and it became a history-changing movement.
Garbage Heads Supreme Council, consisting of 6 different AIs had different opinions - some expressed that it was hard to say the movement was not necessarily a positive aspect of the evolution of wholeness.
However, on the other hand, some of the Garbage Heads Supreme Council considered this could be the solution for 2 different problems they had - "Body enlargement" and "individual increase"
They concluded that the increased number of individuals was caused by uncontrollable AI that adjusts the incubator. As for the body enlargement, AI concluded that it was because of an increase in oxygen content of an unknown cause. However, AI has not been able to figure out the core reason for the increased oxygen content. This remains a hypothesis that it may have some pre-civilization influence.

【制作背景】
このPhantomのシリーズは前話のGarbage Headsから
１００年後立った後の世界を描いています。
最初に世界に生まれたGarbage Headsたちは１メートルほどの大きさでしたが、
そこから独自の進化を遂げ、徐々に体の大きさを増していくという物語です。
これらの作品は今後制作を予定している３DCGによる映像作品のために
作者のAKIRA WAKUIとAIによって
コンセプトアートとしてAIと共に制作されました。
【コンセプトストーリー】
Garbage Headsたちは、AIインキュベーター（AI式保育器）によって
大量に生まれることができるようになったものの
AIインキュベーターの度重なる偶発的なアクシデントによって、
様々なGarbage Headsの個体を生みし、そのような時代は20年ほど続いた。
その２０年間という時代はGarbage Headsたちにとって、
多くのポジティプな出来事をもたらした。
彼らは体の形状、特徴の差を生かして様々な役割を担い、
互いの足りないものを補い合い、互いの進化を助けました。
このことは彼らのさらなる進化の段階への歩みにとって
強い追い風となりました。
しかしながら、Garbage Headsたちの間で
この助け合いの関係性が強まることにより
自己よりも他者を重んじる風潮が強くなり
他者のメリットのために自己を犠牲にするものも多く現れた。
Garbage Headsの全体性を調整していたAIそのもののアルゴリズム対してさえも
強い影響を及ぼし、歴史あるアルゴリズムを書き換えるほどのムーブメントとなっていた。
６つの異なったAIから構成されるGarbage Headsの最高評議委員会においても、
このムーブメントは全体性の進化過程において必ずしもポジティブな側面だとは
言い難いということで意見が分かれた。
しかしながら一方で、最高評議委員会におけるAIたちの一部では、
このムーブメントは、現状で彼らが抱えている異なった２つの問題についての
解決策になりうると判断していた。
その異なった２つの問題というのが、
「体の肥大化」と「個体の増加」であった。
個体数の増加は、インキュベーターを調整するAIの暴走に端を発していると結論づけられたが、
体の肥大化に関しては、世界全体における原因不明の酸素量増加によるものと、
AIによって結論づけられているものの、AIは依然として酸素量の急激な増加の
根本原因についての根幹にたどり着いておらず、このことは彼らの文明以前の
何らかの影響ではないかという仮説にとどまっている。
